Welcome Baby Chicks!

We have been busy welcoming more baby chicks to our Nance family.  We have four that have been moved into their new home and one that's getting ready to be moved.  They are all doing well, napping and cheeping all day in the library.
Check out our footage of chick #4 emerging from his egg.

Today has been a busy day!

We now have 3 baby chicks here at Nance.  One hatched last night and the other two hatched today during the school day.  They are doing well, cheeping away and getting used to their new home.

Here is the video footage from one of our babies hatching!

Today is day 21 of incubation.

Today is April 22, 2019, Earth Day. We are patiently waiting for our new baby chicks to hatch. We have learned what chickens look like, where does it live, what does the chicken eat, and other chicken facts.

It's Almost Hatch Day!

Today in library we read Guess What is Growing Inside This Egg!
We discussed other animals who lay eggs.  Did you know that a duck takes 26-28 days to hatch?  That's about a week more than our chicken eggs.

Our live feed is linked to this blog!  Make sure that you check back often to see if we have any baby chicks!
