We have our first baby!

We now have a baby chick!  It took about 4 minutes to work it's way out of the egg!!  It's so exciting!

What's growing inside this egg?

For our library activity this week, we read a great informational book about animals who hatch from eggs.  We learned lots of great facts.  Did you know that when a baby octopus first hatches that it's the size of a grain of rice?  Pretty amazing, huh? 

After reading the book, we imagined what might be in our eggs and even created an ozobot track for our egg!

It's a great morning for our eggs here at Nance!! We had some guest readers come in this morning to read to the eggs. I'm so proud that our first graders want to make sure that they are taking good care of the eggs.   Our baby chicks are going to be so smart!!

We are excited to announce the arrival of 30 different species of chicken eggs!
It will take about 21 days for them to hatch.  Hatch day is April 25!
